Early Life and Education
Paul Davis Ryan was born on January 29, 1970, in Janesville, Wisconsin. He graduated from high school in 1988 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in political science and economics from Miami University of Ohio in 1992.
Political Career
Ryan began his political career as a legislative aide for Senator Bob Kasten of Wisconsin. In 1998, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives to represent Wisconsin's 1st Congressional District.
