Festival Foods to Close Greenfield Store
91 Employees to Be Laid Off
Store Sold to Texas-Based REIT for $22.3 Million
In a WARN notice filed Tuesday with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Festival Foods announced its plans to permanently close its Greenfield store located at 4777 S. 108th St.
The store, which opened three years ago, will be shuttered, forcing the layoff of 91 employees. The employees will be provided with severance benefits, according to the company.
Festival Foods has cited declining sales as the reason for the closure. The company has sold the store building to a Texas-based real estate investment trust (REIT) for $22.3 million.
The closure is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
