Mark Vientos continued his impressive start to the 2024 season on Tuesday night, belting two opposite-field home runs to lead the New York Mets to a 6-4 victory over the Baltimore Orioles.
Vientos' first homer came in the bottom of the fourth inning with the Mets trailing 4-2. He took an 0-1 curveball from Orioles starter Dean Kremer and sent it soaring over the left-field wall, tying the game at 4-4.
The Mets would take the lead for good in the fifth inning when Vientos launched a solo shot to right field off Kremer. It was his second home run of the game and his fourth of the season.
Vientos' performance helped the Mets improve to 25-20 on the season, while the Orioles fell to 18-27. The Mets have now won three straight games and are 10-5 in their last 15.

With his two home runs on Tuesday night, Vientos became the first Mets player to hit two opposite-field home runs in a game since Pete Alonso did it on May 23, 2022.
Vientos' power display was a welcome sight for the Mets, who have struggled to score runs at times this season. The team is averaging just 4.2 runs per game, which ranks 24th in the Major Leagues.
