The Plagues of Egypt Begin

The Pharaoh's Refusal

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, "Go in to Pharaoh and say to him, 'Thus says the Lord: Let my people go, that they may serve me.'" (WEB)

The First Plague: Swarms of Flies

Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, "Thus says the Lord God of Israel: 'Let my people go, that they may hold a feast to me in the wilderness.'"(WEB)

But Pharaoh said, "Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, neither will I let Israel go." (WEB)

So the Lord said to Moses, "See, I will come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and believe you forever."(WEB)

Then Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh again and said, "Thus says the Lord, the God of the Hebrews: 'How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, that they may serve me.'" (WEB)

But Pharaoh said, "I will not let Israel go." (WEB)

Then the Lord said to Moses, "Behold, I will stretch out my hand and smite Egypt with all my plagues." (WEB)

And Moses stretched out his rod over Egypt, and the Lord caused swarms of flies to come on Egypt. The flies filled the houses of the Egyptians and the land was corrupted by the flies.
