Sterling and Kane strike in second half to send England through
Match report as England beat Germany to reach the last eight of the European Championships
Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane struck in the second half to send England into the quarter-finals of Euro 2020 as they beat Germany 2-0 at Wembley Stadium.
Sterling broke the deadlock in the 75th minute when he fired home from close range after a cross from Luke Shaw. Kane then sealed the victory in the 86th minute when he headed in a cross from Jack Grealish.
The victory was England's first in a knockout match at a major tournament since 2004 and it sets up a quarter-final clash with either Sweden or Ukraine.
